Fall has arrived at the Iberico Acres Wiregrass farm, and with it comes a different rhythm.
The mornings are becoming cooler. Hay is being stacked, while cotton is whitening in the fields. Peanuts are being turned from the soil, and the animals seem to know that the season is changing long before we do. Around Iberico Acres, fall also brings a sense that much of what we have been building toward is finally beginning to come together.
Our Ibérico program continues to grow and mature, while Creamline Reserve is making the transition from an idea we believed in to beef that will soon reach the table. These animals, the land they are raised on, and the way we manage them remain at the center of everything we do.
Looking Ahead
This season also marks another important milestone for Iberico Acres. Our online store is now live through WooCommerce, accepting all major credit cards securely through Stripe. FedEx shipping services are integrated into the system. What started with fences, pastures, livestock trailers, feed bins, and a lot of sweat is now becoming a direct connection between our farm and the people who want to experience what we raise.
And we are already looking toward the next chapter.
Our long-term intention is to make the Wiregrass farm capable of operating independently of the electrical grid. Solar generation, battery storage, water systems, and greater control over the infrastructure that keeps the farm running are becoming part of that plan.
For us, going off grid is not about disconnecting from the world. It is about stewardship, resilience, and taking responsibility for the systems upon which our animals, our farm, and ultimately our customers depend.
That feels especially appropriate in the fall.
What the Year Has Produced
This is the season when farmers begin to see what the year’s work has produced. Some things are harvested. Some are stored away. Others are just being planted in a different sense — ideas, infrastructure, and plans whose value may not be fully realized for years.
The Wiregrass is beginning to feel like home.
And Iberico Acres is beginning to look a lot like the farm we imagined.
